At JD Foundation, we believe in nurturing not just the minds but also the environment in which young minds grow. On 08/09/23, we conducted the ‘Polam Badi’ program at B.C. Hostel, M.S. Palli, Kanchili Mandal, Andhra Pradesh, in our ongoing mission to create a sustainable future.’Polam Badi,’ which translates to ‘Green Garden,’ is a unique initiative where students and the hostel community come together to cultivate a garden of valuable crops, including brinjal, tomatoes, and chili peppers, right within the hostel premises. This program is a testament to our commitment to holistic education, sustainability, and community engagement. ‘Polam Badi’ goes beyond traditional classroom learning. It instills values of environmental stewardship, teamwork, and responsibility among students. By growing their own vegetables, students learn the importance of sustainable living and self-sufficiency, while also contributing to a greener planet. The program was successfully led by Hostel Warden Mr. N. Upendra, whose dedication and support were instrumental in its execution. JD Foundation’s team member, Mr. Kiran Kumar Pathro, actively participated in the program, guiding and mentoring the students. The enthusiasm and dedication of the students who actively cultivated and nurtured the garden were inspiring.
This initiative is just one example of JD Foundation’s holistic approach to education, emphasizing community engagement and sustainable living. We believe that by empowering young minds and fostering a sense of responsibility towards the environment, we are shaping future leaders who will drive positive change in society.
Stay tuned for more updates on our initiatives aimed at creating a brighter and greener tomorrow. Together, we can make a difference. 🌱🌿🌍
